We were proud and humbled to support Community Christmas in 2011!

Mrs. Thiel stops by our office to pick up much needed toothbrushes and toothpaste to use as stocking stuffers.
Catherine Drewry of Crawford started the Oglethorpe County organization over 15 years ago when she discovered there wasn’t a nonprofit organization collecting clothes and toys for kids in her community.
Her nonprofit – Community Christmas – has grown from helping a few children to making Christmas special to over 500 kids today.
“Really, it’s the whole community that comes together,” said Drewry, a Crawford resident who designs landscapes and serves as the director of children’s ministries at an Athens church. (onlineathens.com 12/2010).
Mrs. Thiel, volunteer at Community Christmas, shared with us that not only do they need toys, but basic necessities such as shoes, clothing and personal care items can also make a huge difference.
Agencies like the Department of Family and Children Services pass along names of needy families in Oglethorpe and wish lists to Community Christmas, and the program also helps provide Christmas presents to foster children.
Dr. Durden and the Winterville Dental Team applaud the efforts of Ms. Drewry, Mrs. Thiel and the Community Christmas organization!!
Ready to help? People interested in getting involved can call Catherine Drewry at (706) 743-3592. Donations are accepted year around, and can also be mailed to 143 Bowen Farm Road, Crawford, GA 30630.
